History
Back in 2017 there was an anticipated matchup in football between our Gators playing at St. James High School. A friend of mine asked me to send him updates of the game. Well, while at the stadium, I thought to myself "Lets see how this Facebook Live works". I went Live with the game using my cell phone. Well, my friend tuned in, along with about 30 plus other people tuning in. I said to myself "Hmmm". So the following week I went Live again and the number grew to about 50-60+ people watching (the exact numbers I can't recall). Well, each week I went Live again and the numbers just grew. I was thinking of shutting it down until I received a photo of Mr. Richard Waguespack sitting at his home, watching his Gators on the tv that I was providing for him. I started thinking. Mr. Richard was an avid Gator fan and supporter for so many years but he was now at an age that he physically could no longer go to the games. What better service than to provide to people like him a way to keep watching the Gators and stay "invested" in them. So many people in our community are shift workers, or are sick, or older and can't make the games. So I started piecing equipment together and trying to learn this whole thing on the fly by trial and error working my way up from cellphone to real cameras. I recruited a lot of great parents along the way to go Live to our channel with their phones for games I could not make. Along the way I picked up a friend and former teammate, Brad Guedry, to help me grow to what we have today. We started collecting donations and creating commercials to raise money for our Gators in 2019. So far we have collected and donated right at $60,000 as of 2023. Not a bad feat from such faithful fans that DSN has created over these years. We look to continue to try to raise the bar and bring a good viewing experience to all our viewers. From the beginning we were exclusively on Facebook. But now, after a hacker hijacked my account and with no help from Facebook to help me restore my account I said to hell with it and here we are, learning how to build a webpage on the fly. Here's to hoping year 7 will be our best year yet. Go Gators!
Our Team
Chuck Sheets
I am a 1991 graduate of St. Amant High School where I played football for 4 years. I wear many hats as I am the founder, president, treasurer, secretary, videographer, analyst, color guy, I.T., webpage designer, marketer, fundraiser, digital creator, pack mule, spokesperson, sometimes scoreboard man, and sometimes P.A. guy. I'm sure I am missing some other hat, but you get the point.
I am married to Tory Sheets. Tory is awesome as she puts up with and supports me doing this (at least I think she does). We have had 3 children graduate from St. Amant High so far and have an incoming freshman this year. I am a Registered Nurse working in the Home Health field and also run Sheets Well Pump Repair.
Brad Guedry
As a 1992 Graduate of St. Amant High School, I was a member of the Football and Track teams. As a pole vaulter in my Senior year, I made it to the State Semi-finals. I joined Chuck and Duckroost Sports when my oldest daughter Chandler made the Lady Gator Softball team. I started covering all their games and then began color commentating for all the football games with Chuck. I am the vice president, comments moderator, videographer, commentator, and marketer for Duckroost Sports along with collaborating with Chuck on just about everything with Duckroost Sports Network. I am mainly the voice of reason between us two.
I am married to Stacy Guedry, a St. Amant alumnus also. I have 2 beautiful daughters with one that graduated from St. Amant and an incoming freshman.
I am a Nationally Certified Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Technician for Austin Fire Systems.
